Radha Kund Syam Kund

🌸 Radha Kund
📍 Location

Radha Kund is a sacred holy pond located in Arita Village, near Govardhan Hill, about 25 km from Vrindavan and 26 km from Mathura in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

It is situated next to another holy pond called Shyam Kund (Krishna Kund).

📖 Historical & Spiritual Significance

Radha Kund is considered the most sacred and highest holy place in the entire Braj Mandal. According to scriptures:

  • After Lord Krishna killed the demon Aristasura (who appeared in the form of a bull), Srimati Radharani told Krishna that since He killed a bull (symbol of religion), He must purify Himself.

  • Krishna created Shyam Kund by striking the ground.

  • Srimati Radharani and her sakhis (friends) dug Radha Kund with their bangles.

  • All holy rivers filled Radha Kund with sacred water.

It is believed that bathing in Radha Kund gives the highest spiritual benefit and pure love of God (Prema Bhakti).

Great saints like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu rediscovered Radha Kund in the 16th century.
