DEITY SEVA :  List of the Daily Services that you could offer to their Lordships

In this endeavour of offering service to Lord Krsna, you get eternal credit, and a little service offer to Lord Krsna can protect one from the most dangerous type of fear. --Bhagavad Gita 2.40

While Krsna was going to the fruit vendor very hastily, most of the grains He was holding fell. Nonetheless, the fruit vendor filled Krsna’s hands with fruits, and her fruit basket was immediately filled with jewels and gold. --Srimad Bhagavatam 10.11.11

Daily Deity Seva

"Nityaṁ pūjayed devaṁ nityaṁ vandayed dhiyā !
nityaṁ dhyāyayed devaṁ nityaṁ pūjayed sadā" !!
(Padma Purāṇa, 5.56.14)

Meaning: "One should worship the deity daily, praise Him with a focused mind, meditate on Him daily, and worship Him always." Daily deity worship, also known as "arcanā" or "pujā," holds significant importance in spiritual tradition of Vaishnavism. By incorporating daily deity worship into your routine, you can experience the numerous spiritual and practical benefits that come with cultivating a deeper connection with the Divine. Daily deity worship is recommended and authorized by various Hindu and Vaishnava scriptures, such as the Bhagavad Gita, the Bhagavata Purana, and the Hari-bhakti-vilasa.

Describe some spritual benefits of Deity Worship.

"Pūjāyāṁ yad āhṛtam tat sarvaṁ bhavati śubham !
pūjāyāṁ yad dattam tat sarvaṁ bhavati śubham" !!
(Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa, 27.15-16)

Meaning: "Whatever is offered during worship becomes auspicious, and whatever is given during worship becomes auspicious."

Some more spiritual benefits of Archa seva include-

  1. Establishes a personal connection with the Divine: Daily worship helps cultivate a deep, personal relationship with the deity, fostering a sense of love, devotion, and surrender.

  2. Purifies the mind and heart: Worshiping the deity daily helps to purify one's mind and heart, removing impurities and negative tendencies.

  3. Grants spiritual growth and self-realization: Regular deity worship is believed to facilitate spiritual growth, self-realization, and ultimately, liberation (moksha).
